Experienced Breeders
Here at SFBB we have been keeping and breeding high caliber dogs since the 90's. We have kept and bred various types of hunting, companion and working dogs, all with ability and temperament as our main objective. Conformation usually falls into place enabling an animal to preform it's desired task. When we first started working with the Boerboel we were looking for a dog that had the ability and impressive stature to dissuade any unwanted intruders along with the intelligence to distinguish friend from foe. Through research and selection we have put together a kennel of dogs that carry these attributes. There are different characteristics among the different lines and individual dogs that we keep, some having different jobs than others. If you know what you are looking for in a companion and/or watchman we will do our best in helping you choose the right puppy for you.
TEMPERAMENT FORM FUNCTION
As foremost mentioned temperament is one of our main objectives. That being said coupled with intelligence we have found that through socialization and proper exposure this breed will naturally fulfill it's instinctive protective role without any encouragement. In our experience this is also a dog that likes a job, whether it's keeping the couch warm or the fence line. We believe it's important to establish boundaries and authority when dealing with an animal of such stature.
LOYAL, LOVING & LIFELONG FRIEND
Intelligence is one of the key components that drew us to this breed. Many of the dogs in our kennel are household pets and having a loyal and loving disposition. Tractability is very important to us. However the Boerboel is an animal of prowess, if you haven't had much experience with dogs you may want to attend shows or exhibitions where you can see a Boerboel first hand before taking on the responsibility of ownership. If you choose to do so we hope you find the enjoyment out of your new dog as we find in our own. We use our dogs in many capacities and find that the breeds versatility never disappoints.
